Will Novak Djokovic also follow Rafael Nadal’s Retirement?
After Roger Federer, now Rafael Nadal is on his way to retirement from tennis sport. After the retirement of these 2 legends, Novak Djokovic will be the only member of the Big 3 tennis players of the world by 2025. But recently, Patrick Mouratoglou, the coach of Serena Williams mentioned once that the retirement of Nadal may also have an impact on the career decision of Novak Djokovic. If Novak also decides to retire, the next generation will come up to form the next Big 3 soon.
Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal, the King of Clay Court, has dominated the French Open with 14 titles so far. Nadal made his debut in the tennis world in 2005 and since then he has been recognized for his fast pace and passionate competition to the star tennis player Roger Federer. Apart from the French Open, he has also won several other major titles such as Wimbledon, and has even secured gold twice in the Olympics.
However, now at the age of 38, this fast-paced tennis player has called it a quit due to several physical setbacks. He will announce his retirement this year after the Davis Cup Finals, to be held from 19th November to 24th November in Malaga. Now that both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are out of the league, Novak Djokovic will be the only one facing the ATP Circuit challenges.
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic is known for his excellence on all three courts, that are grass, clay, and hard. If we compare, Roger was known for his grass dominance while Nadal has been always recognized for his dominance on clay. He has won 98 ATP Tour Events so far and is recognized as the only tennis player to have won the titles of all four Slam Singles.
However, it seems that Novak may also make some big decisions after the retirement announcement of Nadal. As of now, even if he has withdrawn from the Rolex Paris Masters, he has announced to play for another year. According to him, he is still fit to face competition and challenges from the younger generation of players at the age of 37. He is looking forward to challenging the new generation of players like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. On the other hand, if we go by the views of Patrick Mouratoglou, Nadal’s retirement decision may have some serious impacts on the career decisions of Novak Djokovic in the future.
